PAL Plein Air Group
2008 Calendar

    We'll be painting together every Wednesday from April thru September starting at 9am (or when you get there) and running 'til lunch. If it's raining, we're cancelled, unless there is shelter handy (which most of the early sites have this year). Check with Anne Knapp to be sure. For out-of the-area sites, carpooling is encouraged. Note that in April and May, we'll be wandering further away. From Memorial Day through Labor Day we'll stay in the Gig Harbor area.

APRIL

April 9 - Wright Park in Tacoma. Meet at the Seymour Conservatory.
April 16 - Daffodil Fields in Puyallup. Meet at Van Lierop Farms.
April 23 - Glass Art Museum Tacoma. Sign up w/Anne for reduced price tickets and to carpool. We can paint on grounds and in Hot Shop (bring a drop cloth).
April 30 - Carol Valstyn's house. Great views of the water and hopefully Mt. Rainier!

MAY

May 7 - Rhododendron Garden at Pt Defiance (or other gardens there).
May 14 - Working Waterfront / Thea Foss Park in Tacoma.
May 21 - (to be announced)
May 28 - Joemma Beach.

JUNE

June 4 - Penrose Point
June 11 - Vaughan Bay -- by the spit, if possible.
June 18 - Minter Creek Hatchery area (nice view of creek).
June 25 - Bay Lake (serene lake view -- or pop over to Penrose).

JULY

July 2 - Starting at 1pm. Farmers Market at Jersich Park (the market, the waterfront or Drawing You In)
July 9 - Wilkerson Farm Park (great barn and pond).
July 16 - Finholm Hillclimb. (the best view of the Harbor and Mt. Rainier).
July 19 - Painting at PAL Summer Art Festival.
July 23 - Sunrise Beach (beach cottages, the Mountain or pastoral views).
July 30 - Wollochet Estuary (park by Gig Harbor Grange -- a wonderful secret!)

AUGUST

August 6 - Fox Island Bridge area (near the boat launch -- lots of choices).
August 13 - Narrow's Park (aka 'Bridge-Viewing Park' -- the bridges, the Narrows or the ravine).
August 20 - Sehmel Farm (lovely pastoral setting with a pond).
August 27 - Adam Tallman Park (great pond with deck overlooks, waterlilies and it's close-in!)

SEPTEMBER

September 3 - (to be announced)
