Events and Shows

    Next General Meeting -- April 24 at 7pm. Painter David Gray will discuss his contemporary figure and still life paintings, inspired by the Classical Realist tradition. He'll demonstrate how he incorporates drawing, values, edges and color in his work.
    We will also select the artwork to be used on promotional materials for this year's Summer Art Festival. Art students from Gig Harbor, South Kitsap and Peninsula High Schools were invited to submit illustrations for our poster, t-shirt, rack cards and members' show announcements. PHS students stepped up to their drawing boards and submitted 17 ideas. At this April meeting, we'll choose the one that will adorn all our festival memorabilia.

    Save these dates for upcoming meetings:

    May 22 -- Program will be presented by acrylic and mixed-media artist Jacqui Beck. (There will also be a screening for new members -- and other members who are now working in a new medium -- immediately prior to the meeting.)

    June 26 -- PAL member Georgina Candelaria Wells will discuss her watercolor paintings with maritime themes.

   September 25 -- PAL member Bev Peterson will discuss framing - always an important topic for new and long-time painters alike. (This is another screening date).

   No meetings in July or August (Summer Festival and annual picnic instead).

   Art Displays -- At every general meeting, we have a display of work by three of our members. Each Featured Artist brings a few pieces of their work and is available to chat during the break.
