... are held the fourth Tuesday of most months at the United Methodist Church, 7400 Pioneer Way, near downtown Gig Harbor. Social hour at 5:30pm; business meeting at 6pm; art demo / program at 7pm. (Note: Please don't park in the "Visitor" spots in the parking lot.)

Upcoming meetings

September 26. This will be a full and interesting meeting.
   * 5pm It's a screening month so if you're a new PAL member, or working in a new medium, please download the Screening Information on the Miscellaneous Forms page.
   * 5:30pm social hour and a demo of installing D-rings to your artwork if you plan to enter our fall members show at Morso.
   * 6pm Business meeting followed by a demo on Exploring Texture with Paper Clay by PAL program chair Eileen Schurer. This sounds like fun!

   Monthly Featured Artists -- At every general meeting, we have a display of work by three of our members. Each Featured Artist brings a few pieces of their work and is available to chat during the social hour. This gives us a chance to get to know one another better as artists and to show off our latest creations. Contact Terry Shovlowski at if you'd like to display your work at a meeting.


    October 3 & 4 -- We'll have a special workshop with Australian watercolor artist and urban sketcher Jane Blundell. Ms. Blundell is teaching workshops in the US this fall and she'll stop in Gig Harbor to lead this workshop (between presentations in Seattle and Portland).    February 24 & 25, 2018-- Mixed Media Workshop with Catherine Gill: "Ooze -- Mixing it up with Watercolor and Pastel." See details on "Workshops" page.

    This year's Open Juried Show is on display at Harbor History Museum. This nationally recognized show is our biggest show of the year, with entries from across the U.S. and Canada. Our juror, PLU art professor Michael Stasino, selected the artworks shown below for awards.

    Plein Air Show -- opens Oct. 6 at Mallard's Landing. Details to come soon.

    Fall Members Show will take place in October at Morso wine bar. Important information: Artists who plan to show their work must send a photo of their piece to Mary McInnis by September 18. Photos will be used in promotional materials.
   Also, all paintings must be hung by D-rings. There will be a demo at the Sept. 26 meeting of how to install D-rings. See Miscellaneous Forms for special information and entry forms.

    Screening for PAL Shows -- Participating in art shows is one of the privileges of PAL membership. All screened members are encouraged to show their work in our Members' Shows, Specialty Shows (e.g. Plein Air Show or Net Shed Show) and the TCC shows. Screenings take place three times a year - February, May and September -immediately prior to the general meeting.
